Back in 2014, we'd introduced our Essential and Business plans in accordance with a number of new enhancements we added to the product the same year. We were known as Unfollowers at that time and were the best Twitter Audience management tool.
Our Vision has always been to be a unified platform for everything social.
In 2016, we rebranded as Statusbrew and added support for Publishing. Publishing is Essential to every social media user, so it was included in all the plans.
In 2017, we released our Reporting feature; we realized that the industry is moving faster and reports are also Essential, we provided excellent reports on all of our plans.
Those changes helped us be an affordable Social Media Management Solution and enabled us to reposition as a complete social media tool. While we added a lot of value to our current plans, we never updated our pricing.
The biggest reason for this was the fact that we had been continuously talking to all our customers and observing the additions tools which they'd been using. We wanted to be sure they were able to see real value for what they'd been paying.
We noticed on an average, users are spending additional money on alternatives in Publishing and Reports (analytics). We also analyzed the number of profiles people have and found out that 85% of our users had not more than 5 profiles.
Besides, Social Listening tools like Tweetdeck or Hootsuite although popular, no one was focusing on an affordable Social Monitoring Inbox. And the ones in need had to spend up to $100 for a basic social monitoring inbox.
In March'18, we launched Engage (a Social Media Monitoring Tool) in invite only mode. We initially planned to open it to only Business customers. Our customers loved it, and soon we noticed of the total people who requested Engage invites, 67% of them were on the $25 Essential plan.
This was a clear signal that some of our Business features were now Essential for everyone who uses social media.
With all of this and more, we knew it was the right time to update the structure of our plans and giving more power to our users. Here's what is changing as of April 18, 2018.
