Identifying Potential Customer Base using Sources By Statusbrew
The process would start with identifying the users who could be your potential customers. This can be done by adding your competitor brand as Source. Adding a source is easy, you just click on the Home tab on the top bar, and on the next page you’ll find an option to ‘Add Source’. A Source can be:
- A Twitter profile which could be a brand, competitor or an entity you are interested in is evolving over time in comparison to your own.
- A Keyword or Trending Hashtag you would want to track i.e. a service or product you provide or a pain-point you solve.

Once they’re added as Sources in Statusbrew, you’ll be able to track their Audience in comparison to yours. If the source is a competitor profile, you’ll find everything from that competitor’s loyal Fans, to their New Unfollowers (so you have a chance to grab them). If the source is a keyword, #hashtag or a list, you’ll be able to see all the users actively talking about that topic. You can engage on the topic or follow users of that topic.
You may even further use Statusbrew filters and sort functionality to only show the type of audience you want to target.

Once you identify the users you want to target, you can let them know of your existence by either sending them a Direct Message, Tweet or by simply Following them. All these actions are super easy to do in Statusbrew.

Checking Conversion of your Follow actions
Once you’ve connected a source to monitor and followed users through that source, the next step involves observing the follow-back rate. For this, we have a feature which we call Conversion. It’s located under the Insights drop-down in the left criteria bar of your profile’s audience.
You’ll find the number of people you followed and the percentage of those followed you back. This is the basic insight where you’ll be able to understand how interested the users from each Source are in your product’s domain.
Whether someone shows interest in you by following you back or mentioning you in their tweet, it’s necessary to initiate a conversation with them. It’s good to begin building relationships with customers from the beginning. Our next step explains how to automate this spark off conversation using our Rule Builder feature.
Initiating Sales efforts using Rule Builder
This is the most important stage of connecting with a potential sales lead. If you understand how users have reached your profile, you can nurture that lead by initiating a conversation with a highly customizable message that seems personalized and remove the feeling of dumb automation. This is where Statusbrew Rule Builder makes all the difference.
Statusbrew Rule Builder is smart as it understands and learns where your users are coming from allows you to customize your actions appropriately. Say you would like to send DMs to people who used a specific #hashtag. You can then trigger an action based on that. You can perform actions such as sending a DM, Tweet or Tagging them for later review.
A rule is triggered for a single event. Although you may (and I highly recommend) create multiple rules for different Events and Sources.
We can see a case where some users from your biggest competitor brand whom you had earlier followed (after finding through the Source feature), follow you back. A rule can be created that should send them a personalized DM, thanking them for the follow back and at the same time providing with lucrative discount coupons for their first purchase from you. This would initiate a sales lead effort from your side. You can also automatically tag them under a ‘Sales follow up’ tag which you can monitor under the Segments criteria in the left activity bar of the Audience section.
This will make it easy for you to send follow-up messages to them.

The Personal Engagement for Converting Leads to Sales
When you leads reply to your DM or mention you or perform the action you had set according to the rule you built, you can setup a rule that can add them under a Tag that you set. In this way, you can create a list of users you need to convert and provide them to the sales team so they can make the required sales effort.
At this stage, your company’s sales team would determine whether the prospect is Qualified. Once the prospect is Qualified, it’s your turn to help drive the prospect toward the sale.

Once you have automated your Twitter Sales pipeline through Statusbrew, leads will no longer slip through the cracks. Moreover, you’ll be able to work faster because everything will be available to you in one place - no more digging through notes or emails to figure out what needs to be done next.
From the management perspective, you’ll be able to gather reliable data and identify bottlenecks that you’ll need to address over time to improve the sales process.
